Why We “Pay it Forward”
The whole concept of “paying it forward” is nothing new and goes back hundreds of years. In essence, if someone does something of benefit or kindness for you, paying it forward means you “repay” that kindness to someone else. And, not to the person who showed you the kindness.
It’s an important concept to us at Coal Pick Distillery. Not for any single favor or act but to recognize and remind ourselves of our good fortune. We are able to do something we love in one of the most beautiful places in the USA, Kentucky USA. We are incredibly fortunate.
Before we even release our first batch of Coal Pick Bourbon, we aim to share our good fortune and start our business off on the right foot. It means something to us to be able to help organizations who need and appreciate random acts of kindness.
No Dog Gets Left Behind
The mission of this organization is to provide financial support to reunite active military with the stray dogs they have bonded with while deployed. Some incredibly strong emotional ties can be built in these deployments. No Dog Gets Left Behind recognizes the comfort, joy and sense of peace these pets can bring to service members. This 501 (c)(3) helps with vaccines, medical treatments, transporting and more.
We want to give back to our military. We are always touched by the role animals play in healing, relieving stress, and bringing love into the lives of our heroes. In the month of December, proceeds from Coal Pick merchandise purchases will go to benefit the programs at No Dog Gets Left Behind.
Past Giving Projects
From October, we are pleased to report that over $3,000 in donations went to The Breast Cancer Foundation of the Ozarks. In November, our Veteran’s Day support projects benefited several different organizations including Hunter Seven, the Green Beret Foundation and The Donnie Edwards Best Defense Foundation with $500 each.
